A Navy SH-60B Sea Hawk will land on Summerall Field at The Citadel at approximately noon on Thursday, Nov. 6 and remain on campus until approximately 5 p.m. Campus constituents and visitors are asked to avoid Summerall Field during landing and takeoff.

War journalist Joseph L. Galloway, co-author of the New York Times best seller “We Were Soldiers Once – and Young,” will visit The Citadel on Wednesday, Oct. 22 to talk about his new book “We Are Soldiers Still: A Journey Back to the Battlefields of Vietnam.”

Dan Kehoe, carillonneur emeritus of Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., will perform two concerts this month at The Citadel’s Thomas Dry Howie Memorial Carillon and Bell Tower.

Even before he graduated from The Citadel in 2003, Clay Middleton had immersed himself in politics, working for Congressman Jim Clyburn in South Carolina’s 6th Congressional District.  These days Middleton is working for presidential candidate Barack Obama in South Carolina.

Leaders in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets were honored during Parents' Weekend events on Saturday as hundreds of family and friends of cadets flocked to campus.

A special exhibit in The Citadel Museum honors Maj. Gen. James A. Grimsley, Jr., 16th president of The Citadel and president emeritus.  The exhibit includes photographs that illustrate Grimsley's cadet years (1938-1942), military career (1942-1975) and Citadel presidency (1980-1989).  His biography and accomplishments also highlight the exhibit.

Today, 383 Citadel cadets received their class rings, marking another milestone in each cadet’s journey toward graduation.  The Class of 2009 rings are unique because they include the gold from two 1949 rings donated to The Citadel through the Band of Gold program.
