The Citadel to host statewide psychology majors

The Citadel on Tuesday will host the South Carolina Psychological Association’s 2008 Academic Day.

Academic Day is a gathering for about 150 undergraduate  and graduate psychology majors and their faculty. Graduate schools participating will include the University of South Carolina Aiken, The Citadel, and Columbia International University. Undergraduate students taking part are from The Citadel, Charleston Southern University, Coker College, College of Charleston, Francis Marion University, Furman University, Lander University and Trident Technical College.

Students will take part in workshops on service learning, leadership and career planning in the psychology field. Students will also compete in a Quiz Bowl. Special speaking guests include Danielle Ripich, president of the University of New England, and Linda Bartoshuk of the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry.

The Academic Day is sponsored by the South Carolina Psychological Association, the Psi Chi chapter at The Citadel and The Citadel School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Association for Psychological Science.
