The Citadel's Regimental Band and Pipes will perform its spring concert at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in McAlister Field House. The day before, on Monday, April 14, the pipe band will travel to Hilton Head Island for their annual visit at the MCI Heritage Classic.

Corps Day 2008 marks the 165th year since The Citadel opened its doors. The annual celebration attracts hundreds of visitors to campus and is marked by two military dress parades.

Midshipmen from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy - who are here for the Principled Leadership Symposium - share birthday dinner with the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. The Corps of Cadets is celebrating 165 years this year.

President Lt. Gen. John Rosa greets student delegates attending this week's inaugural Principled Leadership Symposium. Delegates are representing local colleges, senior military colleges and the federal service academies.

Antwerp serves as the senior military officer overseeing most of the nation's civil works infrastructure and military construction.

The Citadel family was saddened to learn of the death of long-time board member and former chairman, James E. Jones, Jr., who passed away Thursday night in Greenville after a recent illness. A member of the class of 1958, Jones served on the Board of Visitors from 1981 to 2000. In 1992 he was elected chairman of the board and held that post until 1997, guiding The Citadel through its most turbulent period.
