Reporters from around the world were at The Citadel on Monday to cover the Democratic presidential debate. TV anchors, radio personalities, political reporters, bloggers and photographers from as far away as Japan, Germany, Sweden, Italy and Holland joined their American counterparts from New York to California inside the media center in Mark Clark Hall. More than 1,000 news stories about the debate - the first to feature YouTube questions to the candidates.

The college today unfurled the first of several banners that will adorn the campus during the Democratic presidential debate. The banners will become semi permanent fixtures and used for future events on campus, including Parents' Weekend, football weekends, homecoming and commencements.
