With this Memorial Day weekend, The Citadel family pauses to honor our fallen alumni and, notably, the 12 alumni, who have died while serving in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Their bravery, courage and sacrifice are the foundation of America’s freedom.

Recognition Day on campus

Recognition Day marks the end of the Fourth Class System and knob training and is acknowledged by a handshake between upper class cadets and fourth class cadets. Spirit runs are also a part of Recognition Day activities and foster unity among cadets.
