Commencement week is the culmination of years of academic work by cadets and evening undergraduate and graduate students. To mark the occasion, five days of events are planned, beginning Wednesday, May 2 and ending with commencement exercises Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.

Regimental Band and Pipes perform for hundreds

The Regimental Band and Pipes, under the direction of retired Navy Cmdr. Mike Alverson, band director, and Jim Dillahey, pipe director, treated the Charleston community to a free concert this week. Attendance was estimated at 300 people for the first-time event.

The Citadel's ROTC detachments presented 36 awards to nearly 100 cadets on Tuesday, recognizing their military achievements and academic accomplishments.

Top leadership within the South Carolina Corps of Cadets has been announced for the 2007-2008 academic year. The new chain of command will assume its responsibilities on May 4.
