Col. Kevin Frederick, commander of the Naval ROTC detachment, presents Thomas Dotstry with his commissioning Friday. Dotstry was surprised with an early commissioning and a visit from his wife, ET2 Tenisha Dotstry, who is stationed at Norfolk, Va., and is scheduled to be deployed May 2.

In celebrating Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa's installation as 19th president Friday, the college remembers other presidential inaugurations. The tradition holding an inauguration ceremony at The Citadel began with Gen. Mark W. Clark (pictured in this photo). Gen. Clark served from 1954 to 1965. He is buried on The Citadel campus near the chapel.

The inauguration of Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa, the 19th president of The Citadel and 1973 graduate, is scheduled for Friday, April 21. Pre-inaugural events begin Thursday.
