Citadel photographer Russ Pace was awarded the Council for Advancement and Support of Education Circle of Excellence silver award in individual photography for this picture of Summerall Chapel. Pace was also named Employee of the Year and will be recognized along with retiring employees in this afternoon’s dress parade.

Cadets and active duty military personnel attend classes together in pursuit of undergraduate degrees, and for some commissions as officers in the armed forces. The Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) has been at The Citadel since 1973. This is the second year for the the Nuclear Seaman to Admiral Commissioning Program.

The annual Cadet Activities awards ceremony took place Thursday, April 15 to recognize cadets for leadership, academic standing and contributions to cadet life. Citadel President Maj. Gen. John Grinalds addressed the award recipients.

Portions of the west stands of Johnson Hagood Stadium are nothing more than piles of concrete and steel now. Plans are to rebuild the stadium in the coming months.

The Citadel Pipe Band will perform during Monday's opening ceremonies at the MCI Heritage Classic golf tournament on Hilton Head Island. The entire Regimental Band and Pipes will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. April 17 at the North Myrtle Beach Community Center in North Myrtle Beach.
