The Commandant's List is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies and who have excellent military and academic records. They are chosen by company commanders and tactical officers.

Members of The Citadel’s Naval ROTC detachment will run the Cooper River Bridge Run this spring to raise awareness of the financial needs of Marines wounded in Iraq. Money raised will support the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

Fifty-four cadets have been placed on the President’s List for the fall 2006 semester. They will be honored at today's military dress parade. Gold Star recipients also will be recognized at parade, which begins at 3:45 p.m. on Summerall Field.

Marines at The Citadel will run the Cooper River Bridge Run this March in full military gear, including 50-pound backpacks and boots, to raise awareness - and money - for Marines wounded in Iraq and their families.

For the fall 2006 semster, 666 cadets and 42 active duty military students were honored with placement on either the Dean's List or Gold Stars recognition. Gold Stars will be presented today.


Blood drive today on campus

The January campus blood drive kicks off at 8 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. today in Buyer Auditorium in Mark Clark Hall. Any member of the Citadel family can donate as long as you meet American Red Cross guidelines for age, weight and time between donations.

Community leaders and educators will take the spotlight during this year's Black History Month celebration at The Citadel. Events kick off Feb. 3 with the African American Society Bazaar in Mark Clark Hall.

Lecture series explores World War II

The Citadel's Daniel Library Friends spring book and lecture series will focus on World War II heroes and anti-heroes and leaders and villains. All events are free and open to the public.

 


Practice parade today

The Corps of Cadets will hold a practice parade this afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Visitors are welcome but should realize that the event is not a formal parade. The first military dress parade of the semester will be next Friday, January 26 at 3:45 p.m.

The Citadel has named three finalists for the position of provost and dean of the college. Forty-eight people applied for the position. Ten semi-finalists were narrowed down to three finalists who received invitations to visit the campus.

Welcome back Corps of Cadets, CGPS!

The South Carolina Corps of Cadets returns to campus Sunday, 7 January, from the holiday furlough. Classes begin Monday, 8 January, for the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and on Wednesday, 10 January, for cadets and active duty military students.

The Citadel’s basketball game against the College of Charleston has been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 9 with a 7:05 p.m. tip-off set at McAlister Field House.
