The Citadel family remembers

This Memorial Day, the Citadel family remembers all alumni killed in military engagements, especially the 11 Citadel alumni who have died in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It’s one of the area’s best yard sales ever - The Citadel Women's Club will hold its annual Stadium Sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 27 at the Altman Center. Proceeds fund scholarships for cadets.

The commencement address that General Pace delivered at graduation has been rebroadcast on C-SPAN and highlighted by Laura Ingram's national radio talk show as the best graduation speech ever. The attention has created a buzz from those wanting to hear it again.

The Citadel Chapter of the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi celebrated its 27th anniversary by initiating 63 members this spring. In addition Citadel President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa, Class of 1973, and Dr. Gary Durante, Class of 1980, were recognized as distinguished alumni.

Author and Citadel alumnus Pat Conroy, Class of 1967, delivered this eulogy at Lt. Col. Thomas Nugent Courvoisie's funeral May 3, 2006, in Summerall Chapel.

Lt. Col. Thomas Nugent Courvoisie, 89, was remembered May 3 by family, friends and "lambs" in Summerall Chapel. He was laid to rest at Beaufort National Cemetery.
