The goals listed on this page are to be incorporated into the Strategic Plan. The main goals include:
- Attain a national reputation for academic excellence.
- establish an Institute of Public Policy and Leadership in conjunction with CGPS
- optimize cadet, CGPS, and continuing education student body sizes
- establish improving trends in admissions numbers and quality for all programs
- Establish a formal four-year undergraduate program of leadership development based on achievement.
- establish an undergraduate community service program for all sophomores to serve in meeting Charleston community needs
- establish an undergraduate internship program for all juniors to serve in Charleston public or private sector enterprises
- Attain a national reputation for athletic excellence in men's and women's sports.
- Provide for necessary facilities and elimination of deferred maintenance.
- Develop public and private financial resources that will meet, respectively, the need for necessary core requirements and the need to triple current endowments and income in support of program improvements.
Major General Poole will oversee the strategic planning process.
Planning, coordination, and implementation will begin not later than September 1, 1997.
