The Citadel, founded in 1842, is a coeducational public military college with a rich and storied history. Located in picturesque Charleston, S.C., the institution offers a classic military education for young men and women who seek a college experience that is intense, meaningful and academically strong.
The South Carolina Corps of Cadets, the undergraduate program at The Citadel, numbers 2,000 students from nearly every state in the union as well as more than 20 countries. All cadets must take ROTC and around 30 percent of graduates each year go into the armed forces. In addition to the traditional undergraduate program, the civilian College of Graduate and Professional Studies, has offered graduate and undergraduate evening programs for citizens of the Lowcountry since the late 1960s.
The Citadel is a unique public institution with the mission of educating principled leaders through the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.

Roads will likely be closed and parking for employees, students and visitors altered to make room for CNN, the Democratic candidates for president, debate attendees and the 500 to 600 reporters expected to converge on The Citadel campus starting Wednesdsay, July 18 and continuing through Tuesday, July 24. As details are announced, check back here for up-to-date information.

At this time The Citadel does not have debate tickets available for the general public. Only invited guests, faculty, staff, cadets and CGPS students will have the opportunity to get seating for the July 23 event.
